For example, 2012 saw the return of Smooth Radio’s glamorous ‘Starlight Supper’ event. The radio station invited listeners across the country to host their own charity dinner party with Smooth Radio as the soundtrack, playing all the best tunes as well as a quiz. As part of the evening Smooth also encouraged listeners to ask their dinner guests to make a Macmillan donation in exchange for some delicious food.

Macmillan provided listeners with their own personal dinner pack, including invites, place cards and sample menus to make sure that every single dinner party went according to plan. In 2011 the event raised £120,000.

This year the evening was particularly successful with a current total of £135,000 and the money is still coming in.
