Poundland and Macmillan have been working in partnership since 2009 and now thanks to the commitment and enthusiasm of their colleagues and customers, they have beaten their ambitious £1million fundraising target, raising a phenomenal £1,035,000 for people affected by cancer.
Poundland colleagues and customers have been involved in a number of events from the UK’s Three Peaks Challenge, to the London to Paris cycle ride and the London Marathon. They have organised in-store fun days and sold charity merchandise to continue to pound the fundraising drum for Macmillan.
2014 saw a celebratory road-show in March, taking in all the top fundraising stores from around the country, as well as even more in-store charity merchandise. Brave members of staff challenged themselves to take part in bigger and better events for Macmillan, to help ensure that no one has to face cancer alone.
