Monarch Airline’s partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support will soon be entering its 21st year, making them one of Macmillan’s longest term corporate supporters.
The airline’s employees, at bases in Luton, Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester, have helped to increase fundraising year on year and to raise more than £3 million to help people affected by cancer.
World's Biggest Coffee Morning has been a big focus for Monarch but the majority of fundraising has come from onboard collections which generates, on average, over £140,000 each year.
Monarch's support has enabled Macmillan to help both local projects, for example the Guildford Palliative Care Service, and smaller projects across the UK.
Jo Leigh, Head of PR and Communications for Monarch, said: 'We are absolutely delighted to have raised over £3 million for Macmillan and would also like to thank all our passengers who have donated so generously for more than 20 years.'
