What's a vote worth?

Macmillan Cancer Support is encouraging local Nationwide members to take their chance to change lives by voting in the Society’s AGM after it pledges 20p per vote cast to help people affected by cancer.

Around 8.5 million Nationwide members will be able to vote across the country before the 16 May and Macmillan is calling on local members to register their vote at (insert branch and address) to help improve the lives of people affected by cancer.

Nationwide Building Society will contribute 20 pence per vote cast and is aiming to raise £250,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, its flagship charity. Nationwide has supported Macmillan Cancer Support for over 15 years and has raised more than £5 million for people living with cancer.

The money raised from the AGM will fund Macmillan Welfare Benefits Advisors based at Citizens Advice Bureaux. Working with Citizens Advice, also one of Nationwide's charitable partners, Macmillan seeks to offer an integrated service to help people make informed decisions about their finances.

In addition, if members register their vote by 16 July*, they will automatically be entered into a free prize draw, to win one of ten prizes of £1,000 which will be credited to a Nationwide Group account of their choice.

Nationwide has been a strong supporter of Macmillan for over 15 years and this gives members an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of people affected by cancer.'
