Fashion Kicks will kick off with a glitzy champagne reception, followed by a fashion show hosted by Selfridges and featuring a host of Premier League stars. Guests will then be treated to a lavish dinner created by some of Britain’s leading celebrity chefs and restaurateurs Paul Heathcote, Nigel Haworth, Paul Rankin, Terry Laybourne and The Ritz’s John Williams. Dinner will be followed by a glittering charity auction, with the evening culminating in a dazzling set by 44million record selling boyband Westlife who will be accompanied on stage by a full live band.
Shay Given, a patron of Macmillan Cancer Support, says:
‘With the combination of fabulous food, fashion, footballers and amazing entertainment from Westlife, we’re confident that Fashion Kicks 2012 will be our best ever! My wife Jane and I are absolutely thrilled that since 2004 our Fashion Kicks events have raised a staggering £1million for Macmillan Cancer Support and local charities, and we’re hoping to raise another £200,000 this year so they can reach and support more people’.
Westlife stars Kian, Mark, Nicky and Shane say:
‘We are delighted to be once again taking part in Fashion Kicks. This year will be a memorable one for us and it is gratifying to know as Westlife draws to a close that we have helped Shay and Jane in some small way over the years. Their commitment to their charity is truly inspiring and we are looking forward to entertaining the Fashion Kicks audience on May 1st in Manchester’.
Anne Pitcher, Managing Director of Selfridges, says:
‘Once again Selfridges is delighted to support Fashion Kicks, the charity that supports Macmillan Cancer Support, Beechwood Cancer Care Centre Stockport and the Adopt a School Project. Our third year promises to be spectacular as we create a showcase for our designer wear, in what has now become a highlight in Manchester's calendar. We look forward to raising as much funding as possible for these worthwhile causes with an this inspiring event in a city where people are so passionate about both football and fashion.’

Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer, providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support. Working alongside people affected by cancer, Macmillan works to improve cancer care. More than one in three of us get cancer. Two million of us are living with it. If you are affected by cancer Macmillan can help.
Beechwood Cancer Care Centre has used the money raised via the Fashion Kicks event to increase its specialised assistance to family members - especially children and teenagers. These funds have enabled the refurbishment of extra dedicated space and increased staffing to ensure help and support is offered to anyone affected by Cancer or other life limiting illness via one to one talk time and group sessions.
Chefs Adopt a School is the Academy of Culinary Arts' charitable long-term project which, through a 'hands-on' approach, focuses on developing an essential understanding of 'taste' and teaches children about the pleasures of eating, the provenance of ingredients and the processes by which raw materials are transformed into food. As well as providing a solid basis for learning life skills, it is hoped that this will encourage them to experiment for themselves.
