Commenting on the ‘Any Qualified Provider’ guidance issued by the Government today, Mike Hobday, Head of Policy at Macmillan Cancer Support, said:
‘Although it’s important who provides a service, it’s more important the Government ensures every provider complies with the highest clinical standards. No one should be allowed to provide a service that falls short of these standards. ‘As the ‘Any Qualified Provider’ guidance is rolled out further, it’s critical patients can choose from a range of providers offering first class cancer care. High-quality cancer service providers would ensure that patients have access to Clinical Nurse Specialists and effective multi-disciplinary teams.’
