Responding to National Cancer Intelligence Network’s (NCIN) new report on the increase in thyroid cancer, Professor Jane Maher, Chief Medical Officer of Macmillan Cancer Support, says:
'We have been concerned for some time that the number of people living with thyroid cancer in England has been increasing as this report shows. 'To support this growing number, Macmillan is launching a new thyroid service in the new year to allow cancer patients with this much rarer cancer to have access to expert support, no matter where they live. 'Every cancer patient who calls the Macmillan Support Line will have access to a specialist thyroid cancer expert.'
