Commenting on the Welfare Reform White Paper published today, Mike Hobday, Head of Policy at Macmillan Cancer Support, said:
'We welcome the Government’s efforts to simplify the benefits system and are encouraged by their commitment to protect and support people who simply can't work, such as some people with cancer. 'Safeguards currently in place to protect cancer patients must remain in the new system to ensure people in most need of financial help aren’t denied it.'
