Responding to the publication of the NHS Future Forum report today, Ciarán Devane, Chief Executive of Macmillan Cancer Support, said:
'Macmillan welcomes the recommendations of the Future Forum. The Prime Minister must commit to the key changes; better patient engagement, more joined-up services and ensuring that private providers deliver high-quality care. 'The reforms will fail unless the NHS continues to consult with patient charities such as Macmillan as the details of the reforms are worked out.'
