Katherine Jenkins becomes newest ambassador for Macmillan

Welsh Mezzo soprano Katherine Jenkins has been appointed as a new Ambassador of Macmillan Cancer Support joining Fearne Cotton, George Michael, Kay Burley and Martin Clunes in working for the charity.   

Katherine’s late father was helped by Macmillan and both Katherine and her sister Laura have worked tirelessly to help raise awareness and funds for people affected by cancer. “It’s a great honour to have been asked to be an Ambassador for Macmillan and I look forward to helping the charity as much as possible” states Katherine.

Katherine has already performed to a delighted audience at the Macmillan Guards Chapel Carol Concert last year raising over £40,000. This year Katherine supported Macmillan’s flagship fundraiser the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning| and attended the Macmillan De’Longhi Art Auction where she bought a piece by Sir Peter Blake helping to raise £85,000. In 2007 Laura climbed Kilimanjaro, one of Macmillan’s toughest fundraising challenges.
