Most cancer patients will have to see a variety of health or social care professionals. Macmillan develops teams of nurses, GPs, consultants and social workers to provide integrated care.
We have funded over 4,000 Macmillan health and social care professionals across the UK. In 2008 these professionals helped 432,000 people, including cancer patients, their families, carers and friends.
All our professionals are specialists in their area of cancer care and leaders in their field. They use their expert knowledge to help people understand more about cancer, manage their symptoms and side effects, and find practical ways to live with their illness.
