Between 2004 and 2007 Macmillan and the Department of Health co-sponsored a cancer genetics service improvement programme. Setting up eight pilot services, the programme explored ways to identify people concerned about a family history of cancer and provide them with appropriate advice, care and support.
Set up across England, the eight pilot services were based in primary and secondary care to find out the concerns of people with a family history of cancer and provide them with information and support. Find out more about the services and their outcomes:
The findings have appeared in a number of resources, including publications and an online service development toolkit. Find out how the programme has appeared in publications|.
