Juliet Bouverie, Amanda Kimpton and Adrienne Betteley
Amanda Kimpton from Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust| was named Palliative Care Nurse of the Year. Amanda manages a specialist palliative care team that has been instrumental in Worcestershire’s successful progress with implementing an end-of-life care strategy. Christine Ward from South Tees Hospitals NHS Trust |won the Lifetime Achievement Award. She was the first Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care in Hambleton and Richmondshire, and went on to become Macmillan Palliative Care Team Leader in 1999, Lead Nurse for Cancer and Palliative Care in 2002, and Nurse Consultant in Adult Palliative Care in the same year. She also led the set-up of a Macmillan palliative care service.
