User Involvement Coordinator - Vauxhall, London
Closing Date: 29/08/2008
Reference: 2388
Salary: 35,000 plus benefits
Working closely with health and social care providers, you’ll support our user involvement communities in influencing the way local cancer services move forward. A strategic thinker, you’ll set out an integrated model to support our ‘Force for Change’ agenda – and ensure the needs of people affected by cancer continue to inform our corporate priorities in the future.
It’s a way to have a direct impact on people’s lives; and see the tangible results of your efforts on a daily basis. You’ll help promote local activity amongst diverse networks of people, and will use your excellent relationship building skills to establish fruitful partnerships with various authorities.
Familiar with local engagement models, you’ll have a proven ability to involve service users in local decision making processes. And it goes without saying your communication skills will be inspirational. As you’ll be working in a health and social care environment, it’s also important you have some experience of the structures and processes involved in the sector.
Feeling powerless can be devastating. Especially in the face of an illness like cancer. That’s why at Macmillan, we not only support those living with the disease, we do everything we can to empower people, and help them influence and change their own situation. You will help make this happen.
