Most cancer patients will have to see a variety of health or social care professionals. Macmillan develops teams of nurses, GPs, consultants and social workers to provide integrated care.
We have funded over 4,000 Macmillan health and social care professionals across the UK. In 2009 these professionals helped 451,000 people, including cancer patients, their families, carers and friends.
All our professionals are specialists in their area of cancer care and leaders in their field. They use their expert knowledge to help people understand more about cancer, manage their symptoms and side effects, and find practical ways to live with their illness.
These new awards recognise and celebrate the exceptional contribution to cancer services made by Macmillan professionals.
Nominations are invited from managers, peers and colleagues and must be received by the end of March 2012.
